Respondus is a lockdown browser program that ensures student honesty in taking online quizzes and tests. When students are required to use the lockdown browser, all other applications and devices on the computer being used will be disabled for the duration of the testing time.
In addition to the lockdown browser, Respondus also provides video monitoring. The student’s computer webcam will be engaged to allow real-time proctoring or video recording. This feature allows an instructor to require students to display a form of ID and/or their testing environment on their webcam prior to taking a test. When the exam is complete, the student’s webcam shuts off automatically to prevent privacy issues.
