Mission
The mission of FRACTL is to serve as the deliberative and decision making body promoting innovations and best practices at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) that continuously improve student learning, access, and success. (Charter - Updated 2022)
Purview
All course modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, online)
Course enhancements through innovative techniques (e.g.: Open Educational Resources, Makerspace/STEAM engine, Learning Communities, etc.)
Formal recommending body to CTL for professional development related to mission of FRACTL
Serve as advisory body to the Center for Teaching and Learning

Meeting Days/Times
FRACTL will meet on the first Tuesday of the Month from 2:30-4:00pm in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), unless changed by majority vote of the FRACTL membership.
Grants
FRACTL offers three different grants that are available for EMCC employees.
New and Redesigned Course Masters Grant - The purpose of EMCC’s New & Redesigned Course Masters grant is to provide a faculty-driven mechanism for developing, expanding, and upgrading EMCC’s course offerings to improve student access and success through innovative pedagogical techniques and course design.
Major Course Master Updates Grant - Course Masters at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) are developed through a grants process currently administered through the Faculty Resources Action Committee for Teaching and Learning (FRACTL), or through the former E-learning committee.
Innovations and Learning Grant - The purpose of the EMCC Innovations and Learning Grant is to support projects that are designed to grow the learning college and promote student success.
