Estrella Leadership Development Program

What is the Estrella Leadership Development Program (ELDP)?

The purpose of the Estrella Leadership Development Program (ELDP) program is to engage full-time EMCC employees in an interactive leadership skills development program which will introduce leadership strategies to maximize professional effectiveness and positively impact learning.

THE MISSION: ELDP integrates EMCC’s core values, professional development, leadership theories and best practices to engage participants in the cultivation and implementation of leadership, skill building, professional effectiveness and personal growth within a Learning College philosophy.

What is the goal of ELDP?

The goal of ELDP is to provide participants the tools that will hone leadership skills through workshop sessions that are practical and applicable in a learning college environment. Workshop sessions include but are not limited to: teambuilding, strategic planning, change management, process organization and accountability.

Who is eligible for the program?

The employee must have at least one year experience working on the EMCC campus and must be a benefits-eligible employee (including OYO and OSO). Applicants must have served in their full time role for six months at the start of the program in February. 

When will the program begin?

ELDP is a 10-week program and will begin mid-February 2018 and end by the end of April 2018. Sessions will be will be 3 hours in length and will be conducted from 9am to 12pm on Fridays. Sessions dates are:

Selected applicants are expected to attend every session

What topics will be covered in the program?

EMCC Core Values, Service Excellence, Team Building, Forming Organizational Trust, Managing Conflict, Communicating Vision, Understanding Leadership Style, Time Management, Decision-Making Strategies, Creating a Culture of Intelligence, Creating a Compassionate Workplace, Celebrating achievements, and more.

Why apply?

Active engagement allows individuals to learn from the experience of others as well as acquire new skills and techniques which will benefit leaders at all levels.  The overall experience will provide you with personal and professional growth which in turn will enhance the overall learning experience.

How do I apply?

Complete and submit the online ELDP application form and inform your supervisor of your interest. Please note, the total program will require approximately 40 hours of committment including the sessions (30 hours) and outside projects (10 hours). 

Applications must be submitted by Friday, December 1, 2017. 

Please act quickly, limited slots are available.

Diversification of group will be considered in the selection process.

What if I am not selected?

The campus will continue the program on a yearly basis. If you are not selected this year, you will have an opportunity to apply again next year.
